Having visibility into inventory and sales at store level is vital to a retailer’s ability to make profitable, fact-based business decisions. Our partner Vision33 provided client Valu Home Centers with a solution that helps them do just that.
Valu Home Centers, a chain of retail home improvement stores in New York and Pennsylvania, chose Vision33 for its expertise providing solutions to retail. Vision33 installed CitiXsys’ iVend Retail point of sale software solution in the retailer’s home centers and SAP Business One in its corporate offices.
Valu Home Centers reports the iVend Retail-SAP Business One solution provides a real-time view of cash management and the ability to determine profitability of promotions and to monitor trends, and store associates find the system easy to use, and they report a boost in their efficiency, as well as customer satisfaction.
The solution also provides much greater visibility into the retailer’s business than its previous, home-grown management system, allowing corporate offices to base decisions on accurate, real-time data. In addition, it gives Valu Home Centers the tools to forecast inventory for specific stores.
According to Marty Noworyta, enior VP IT Valu Home Centers, “iVend Retail delivers real-time sales data that enables us to more accurately forecast our profitability.”
iVend Retail is designed to help retailers have the right stock in the right stores, in the right quantities – it offers the tools retailers need for replenishment planning. The benefits of a solution that assists with accurate replenishment planning can be significant. iVend Retail has found that our customers that use replenishment planning see a gross margin improvement of 2% over five years and an increase of almost half an inventory turn – which translates into savings of almost 40% of sales.
