Displays the quantity for which the serial number(s) is to be generated.

Serial/Batch Numbers

The user enters the string for the serial number(s) to be generated.

The value for the string can be a numeric or alphanumeric character.

Type

Drop Down

The user needs to select the type of string as per the value specified in the “String” field.

The various options are:

•String – value entered in the “String” field is an alphanumeric character.

It is not applicable if the serial numbers to be generated are more than 1 as the value for the serial number has to be unique. It can be used only if the user is defining the string as a combination of types “String” and “Number”.

•Number–value entered in the “String” field is numeric.

Operation

The user needs to specify the operation for the string specified. Select one of the following options:

• None –Select the option if the “Type” specified is “String”.

This is the only option applicable to “Type”- “String”. It is not applicable to the “Type” –“Number”.

•Increase–Select the option if the user wants the serial numbers to be generated in an increasing order.

e.g., if the value specified in “String” field is 100,”Type” selected is “Number” and the value specified in “Serial to be Generated” field is 3.

On selecting the option, following serial numbers will be generated.

The option is applicable only to “Type”-“Number”

•Decrease–Select the option if the user wants the serial numbers to be generated in decreasing order.

e.g., if the value specified in “String” field is 100,”Type” selected is “Number” and the value specified in “Serial to be Generated” field is 4.

On selecting the option, following serial numbers will be generated.

Buttons

Add Row

Button

The button enables the user to add a row to the “Serial Numbers” grid.

The user needs to add a row to define the string as:

•String-Number –To specify the string as a combination of multiple string and number types.

e.g., if the user specifies "STR" for type “String” in  one row

10 for type “Number” in the second row and the value specified in “Serial to be Generated” field is 4.

On clicking the “Ok’” the following serial numbers will be generated.

Delete Row

Button

The button enables the user to delete the row added to the “Serial Numbers” grid.

To delete the user needs to select the row to be deleted and click the button.

Ok

Button

The button updates changes to the database and closes the screen.

Cancel

Button

The button does not save any changes and closes the screen.
